Brise is an installation that starts to vibrate with the help of minimal movements. The shimmering points of light bend and stretch analogous to a breeze and create playful atmospheres.
Hinter diesem Projekt steckt die Analogie zu einem Kornfeld im Wind oder Glühwürmchen im Wald.
Die Lichtpunkte bestehen aus LED's, wobei jedes an zwei getrennte Drähte befestigt ist. In einer der Drähte wurde eine Feder gedreht, sodass eine fast gleitende Bewegung entsteht. Der Strom führt durch einen der Drähte zum LED und vom anderen wieder zurück zum Trafo. Wenn sich die Konstruktion zu stark bewegt, beginnen die Lichtpunkte zu flattern, was durch die Berührung beider Drähte kurz gesagt einem Kurzschluss zustande kommt.
Behind this project lies the analogy to a cornfield in the wind or fireflies in the forest.
The light points consist of LED's, each attached to two separate wires. In one of the wires a spring was turned, so that an almost gliding movement is created. The current goes through one of the wires to the LED and from the other back to the transformer. If the construction moves too much, the light spots start to flutter, which is caused by touching both wires, resulting in a short circuit.
